Mended Child Safety Policy

At Mended, we are committed to ensuring a safe and age-appropriate experience for all users. As an app designed exclusively for users aged 18 and older, we have implemented measures to prevent access by children and protect their privacy and safety.

1. Age Restriction

• Mended is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older.
• We do not knowingly allow users under 18 to access or use our app.
• During account creation, users are required to confirm they are 18 or older. We may use age verification methods, such as prompting for date of birth or integrating with Apple's Declared Age Range API (when available), to ensure compliance with this restriction.

2. No Collection of Children's Data

• Mended does not knowingly collect, store, or share personal information from users under 18.
• In accordance with COPPA, we do not collect personal information (e.g., name, email, location, or device identifiers) from anyone we know to be under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Since our app is not intended for users under 18, we do not provide mechanisms for parental consent.

3. Content and Safety Measures

• All content in Mended is curated for an adult audience (18+). This includes user-generated content, which is moderated to ensure compliance with our Terms of Service and applicable laws.
• We employ tools to filter and report inappropriate content, including mechanisms to block abusive users and respond promptly to user reports.
• Advertisements, if present, are reviewed to ensure they are appropriate for an 18+ audience and comply with App Store guidelines.

4. Privacy Protections

• Our Privacy Policy, accessible within the app and on our App Store listing, clearly outlines how we collect, use, and protect user data. It explicitly states that Mended is not directed at children under 18.
• We do not transmit personally identifiable information to third parties without user consent, and we implement security measures to protect user data.

5. Compliance with App Store Guidelines

• Mended adheres to Apple's App Store Review Guidelines, including Guideline 1.3 (Kids Category) and Guideline 5.1.4 (Data Privacy), ensuring that our app does not target or appeal to children.
• We avoid using terms like "for kids" or "for children" in our app metadata, as required by Apple, to prevent confusion about our target audience.
• Our app is rated 18+ in the App Store, based on responses to Apple's content description questions in App Store Connect, ensuring parents can make informed decisions.

6. Reporting and Contact

• If you believe a user under 18 has accessed Mended or if you have concerns about child safety, please contact us immediately at support@mended.love.
• We will investigate and take appropriate action, including account termination if necessary, to ensure compliance with our age restriction.

7. Commitment to Child Safety

• We are dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any such content or behavior is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the appropriate authorities in accordance with applicable laws.
• We align with industry standards, such as those set by the Tech Coalition Child Safety Standards, to maintain a safe environment.
